The Story

Ahead of the US Open, waterdrop, a listed company on the Nasdaq Exchange, was scheduled to ring the opening bell and wanted to create an interactive tennis activation featuring waterdrop athlete Novak Djokovic - one of the top tennis players in the world.

The concept was to build the first-ever tennis court in Times Square’s 43-44 Plaza and a sampling bar for visitors to enjoy waterdrop's Microdrink hydration supplements. We designed a 60' L x 30' W x 20' H truss structure with draped safety netting and a vinyl floor application to create the signature waterdrop green tennis court. For the Hydration Bar, we designed and fabricated a custom bar structure and a photo op wall comprising hundreds of tennis balls.

The activation consisted of open play on the court for the public and members of the press, product sampling, and appearances by waterdrop athletes Taylor Fritz, Danielle Collins, and Novak Djokovic. The day culminated with ‘The Match of the Year,’ where Novak's entrance featured choreographed videos across the Nasdaq Tower and Times Square 1 billboards alongside synced audio at the activation site.
