Diwali Cultural Festival
Concept
On September 20, 2014, IDEKO obtained all NYC event permits and produced the Diwali Cultural Festival in Times Square. It had two major components – the vendor booths on 43rd Street and the Cultural Performances in the Plaza. The vendors were selling food and apparel, and IDEKO helped them secure the appropriate permits. We also managed the logistics of power on that block, garbage/grease removal, crowd control, and traffic considerations during load-in and load-out.
We also built and managed the stage in the Plaza, which featured many acts with varying technical needs. The show went over without a hitch, despite all the moving parts. Our team was proud to contribute to the success of this cultural celebration with over 100,000 attendees, A-list Bollywood performances, and great feedback from the surrounding neighborhood.
Our Role
IDEKO secured all necessary permits , built custom staging elements, and managed logistics of load-in and load-out with a crowd of 100,000.
